The first set of resources focus on the host country of this year's Olympics - China. Here are some ideas for possible uses in the classroom:
-Students research China and use the paper to share their final work.
-Students select an aspect of Chinese culture to research and use the paper to share their final work.
-Students write "A Day in the Life" story about living in China.
-Students compare and contrast China to their own country and/or state.

Below you will find a number of activity pages. Next to each page you will find a description of the worksheet, as well as an idea of how to use it with your students.
Tangram puzzle (B&W) Students learn about the history of the Tangram puzzle. After making copies of the worksheet (on white tag board), distribute to students so they can create their own puzzles. Students can create puzzles for each other. |
Note Taking OPTION 2: Instead of taking all their notes on the small pages below, you may want to give each student one of the four sheets and ask them to record the most interesting fact they learned from their research. This would make a great bulletin board or mini class book. |
